Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take?
This can vary depending on your reasons for coming. Some people want to focus on a specific problem which might be resolved in a short time, for example 6 to 12 sessions. However it really does depend on what arises from the sessions which will guide both the client and therapist as to the direction and how long it needs to take. Counselling is a journey of self discovery and self development which is something that more and more people are becoming aware of. Some people might therefore attend counselling for a longer period of time, on average between 1 and 3 years or longer.
How much will it cost?
Fees are £65 for a therapeutic hour (50 minutes).
How do I start?
As a first step you can call or email me to arrange a first meeting, we will complete a brief assessment and this will give us an opportunity to discuss what is going on for you and how counselling might help you. It will also give you an opportunity to get a sense of what it's like to be with me and ask questions that you may have about therapeutic counselling and my approach. If after our initial meeting you would like to work with me we can arrange regular session times.
How often should I come?
Frequency really depends on you and your needs, some people may choose to come several times per week, in this case adjustments can be made to the fee to make it affordable but I would say no less than once a week as this is the minimum to maintain the therapeutic relationship and therapeutic progress.
When can I come?
Appointments are available in the morning or evening though the evening sessions are at a premium. Ideally you would stick to the same time and day, on a weekly basis.
